The Czech Presidential Couple Shone at the Coronation of King Charles III
President Petr Pavel and First Lady Eva Pavlová were among the distinguished guests at the coronation of King Charles III in Westminster Abbey. The globally watched ceremony brought together dignitaries from around the world — and, as always, the eyes of the media were closely fixed on every sartorial detail. Our presidential couple represented the Czech Republic with poise, grace, and thoughtful preparation.
Mrs. Eva Pavlová captivated attention in a lilac ensemble created in collaboration with Lenka Bernardes da Silva and Beáta Rajská, complemented by a hat by Jolana Kotábová and a brooch by Michal Kadaník. Each designer contributed to an elegant and cohesive look that earned well-deserved praise. I am truly delighted by how beautifully they represented our country on such a significant occasion.
On the eve of the coronation, Mrs. Pavlová wore a gown I designed especially for her — paired with a unique EVA handbag by Andrea Vytlačilová. It was both an honor and a joy to create a look for the banquet at Buckingham Palace.
For the powder-blue dress, I drew inspiration from timeless silhouettes of classic sheath dresses with a small standing collar and belt — reflecting the enduring elegance of First Ladies such as Hana Benešová and Jackie Kennedy, as well as archival works of great international couturiers. Its strength lies in the refinement of its cut, the precision of its tailoring, and above all, the choice of material.
For this type of minimalist design, the fabric is everything. We selected a wool crepe, known for its exceptional drape and resilience — a material once favored by Christian Dior and the same one I used for the inaugural ensemble.
The look was completed with a hand-embroidered clutch, made from the same fabric and embellished with Preciosa crystals, created by the talented Andrea Vytlačilová. The result was the perfect synthesis of collaboration, craftsmanship, and personality — beautifully embodied by Mrs. Eva Pavlová herself.
This moment — along with the presidential election and the inauguration — marks another defining milestone in my career. I approached each of these occasions with precision and care, considering every fabric, silhouette, and color through the lens of more than twenty years of experience as both a designer and personal stylist.
My guiding principle has always been to perceive the uniqueness of every woman — her needs, her strengths, and even her quiet hesitations — and to design timeless, meaningful pieces that express who she is.
I am deeply grateful for the trust and support of Mrs. Eva Pavlová, President Petr Pavel, the entire team, and all my clients and friends who have stood by me through this journey.
From the heart — thank you.
